The idea of shifting your perspective when traveling is not a new concept. From the Ancient Greeks to Thoreau, wise people have discovered a sense of freedom when exploring beyond their day-to-day routine.

With the omnipresent devices in our pockets, it can be extremely difficult to disconnect in order to immerse ourselves in the wonder of getting lost and feeling independent.

Solo exploration is a valuable part of human growth, both mentally and socially. Think of the memories of your first day of school (or college), your first solo trip, or even just a memorable run or bike ride that you took alone. All of these experiences leave an indelible mark on your psyche.
